What can you see when you take a closer look at a tulip? Can you label the parts of these tulips?
Dice + Friends = Adding Fun!
A few of our friends added numbers today and then wrote the numbers 1 to 20. Well done kinders! Over the last few months, we have had many of our friends bringing toys, cards etc. to school. Although the children are extremely excited to show their favourite things to friends, we ask that these items please remain at home. We have had many misplaced and broken items and this leads to many tears (which we feel horrible about). We have spoken to all the children and have asked that all their 'treasures' be kept at home. We have also told them that they can draw a picture of their beautiful 'things' and bring that to school instead.
Just a quick reminder that our classroom basket theme is 'Baking Fun!'. Thank you in advance for all your contributions. We can wait to put together our yummy basket.
Last week our little caterpillars arrived. We named them and have shown them lots of love. Take a look at how much they grew over the weekend. One of them is already forming a 'J' and getting ready to build its cocoon. WOW!
Yesterday was a great day for exploring, discovering and learning. We became astronomers, meteorologists, chemists, paleontologists and engineers all in one morning! Amazing!
Late last week, our friends began showing a lot of interest in learning about jungles. So cool! Check out some of the jungles they created independently and collaboratively.
What happens when you put a whole sweet potato in water? It grows roots! How long will the roots grow? Hhmmm.... we will have to wait and see.
Check out our tomato plant ... it's growing! Do you think we will be eating tomatoes by the end of the school year? I hope so!
On Tuesday, we participated in a school wide math inquiry. The children were given a picture of a whole pizza cut up into 10 slices. They were asked to answer the question; How many pizzas will we need to feed our whole class?.
Check out their wonderful work! |
